Orly Alter is a USTAR associate professor of bioengineering and human genetics at the University of Utah and serves as the Chief Scientific Officer and co-founder of Prism AI Therapeutics, Inc. They have held positions as an adjunct associate professor at both the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Utah, and were previously an assistant professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Orly's academic journey includes a postdoctoral fellowship in genetics at Stanford University and a background as a graduate research assistant in applied physics at the same institution. Prior to their academic career, they served in the Israeli Air Force as a base defense officer and operations researcher.
