Peter Schmidt is a quantitative researcher with extensive experience in alpha generation and portfolio optimization. Currently employed at Qube Research & Technologies since May 2022, Peter previously worked at IKOS CIF Limited, where research and implementation of statistical and machine learning-based alpha-generating strategies were pivotal. A PhD researcher at ICFO from November 2014 to April 2019, Peter focused on the interactions of light with few-atom thick materials, alongside supervising master’s and internship students. Early career experience includes a business strategy internship at Infineon Technologies and a research stay at the University of Alberta. Educational qualifications include a Master's in Mathematics and Finance from Imperial College London, a PhD in Physics from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, and additional degrees in Physics from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
