Liza (Baskir) Debies is an Associate Principal of Environmental Planning at PlaceWorks, where they provide senior oversight for the production of environmental review documents. They previously served as a Senior Project Manager at FirstCarbon Solutions, coordinating significant environmental analyses and managing project budgets. Liza began their career as a Citizen Outreach Campaign Director with the Fund for the Public Interest and has extensive experience in nonprofit work, project management, and urban planning. They hold a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Anthropology from Pitzer College and briefly studied Biotechnology at Spring Athlone Institute of Technology.
