Guaniri Mateu-Petit served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Emory University School of Medicine from 2005 to 2011, followed by a role as a Microbiologist/Research Scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from 2011 to 2017. They then worked as a Medical Science Liaison at Sanofi Pasteur from 2017 to 2021 and are currently the Field Medical Director for Vaccines at Pfizer. Guaniri holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Virology and a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a focus on Microbiology from Universidad Simón BolÃvar, where they also served as a Teacher Assistant.
