Mikel Serrano Signes is a data science professional currently serving as Lead Data Scientist at Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial since January 2024, where responsibilities include leading a team of data scientists and defining the data science strategy and roadmap. Previously, Mikel worked as a Senior Data Scientist at the same company, focusing on developing end-to-end machine learning pipelines and creating a custom MLOps library. Prior experience includes a role as Data Scientist at Desigual, where Mikel designed an MLOps system in AWS and engineered data pipelines for retail and e-commerce analytics. Mikel began career as a Process Engineer/Business Analyst at GRUP SEVICA, collaborating on data dashboards and data quality initiatives, and also engaged in community work as a Monitor infantil at Let's Make Project. Mikel holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master's degree in Management Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
