Drew grew up in Cuyahoga Falls and is a graduate of the University of Akron. After college, he moved to the Florida Keys, where he split time working as a writer and on deep-sea fishing boats. He now lives in Bend, Oregon, with his wife and son and has traded in fishing for trail running— having completed 10 ultra marathons.
