Parfums de Marly’s origins are closely linked to the history of France and to Louis XV in particular who nurtured two all-consuming passions for thoroughbred horses and perfume. In tribute to this period of history and the splendour of the 18th century – not only the age of enlightenment but also the age of perfume – Parfums de Marly revives the opulence of the Château de Marly and the Versailles court through creations which reflect the nobility of the time, a golden age for perfumery. A perfumery at a time before marketing, before globalisation, before massification.
