Kris Meawasige is an experienced professional in Indigenous education and outreach, currently serving as the Team Manager for Indigenous Education and as an Indigenous Student Support and Re-engagement Coordinator/Educator at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board since February 2016. With a strong background in teaching, Kris has also facilitated the Indigenous Summer Learning Program for Indigenous students in grades 9-12. Prior roles include Provincial Youth Outreach Worker at BGC Ottawa and Indigenous School Liaison at the Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health, showcasing a commitment to Indigenous communities and youth support. Kris holds multiple degrees, including an Honours in Indigenous Studies from Trent University and a Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University.
