Lei Chen has over 20 years of experience in hardware and system architecture, specializing in the R&D and deployment of AI computing platforms, autonomous driving systems, and high-performance embedded hardware. They have held key roles at leading technology companies, including Tesla, Google, and Cisco, where they managed end-to-end R&D projects from concept to mass production. Currently, as the Senior Director of AI Systems Engineering at OpenAI, Lei is responsible for the architecture and engineering implementation of core AI computing platforms. They are pursuing a Master’s degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.
