Rebecca Brienen is the Associate Dean for Faculty and Graduate Student Affairs in the College of Arts and Sciences and a Professor of Art History at Oklahoma State University. In 2023-2024, they served as Faculty Fellow for Enriching and Integrating the Arts in the Office of Academic Affairs. Previously, from 2017 to 2025, they were the inaugural Director of the Prairie Arts Center, a partnership between OSU and the City of Stillwater. Dr. Brienen specializes in 17th century Dutch Art and has conducted extensive research on the effects of European colonization on art. They hold a BA from Wellesley College, an MA in Theology from Harvard, and both an MA and Ph.D. in Art History from Northwestern University.
