Catherine Wharton MBE is currently the Online Safety Policy Principal for Illegal Harms at Ofcom, where they lead policy development on high-harm online areas. Previously, they served as a Detective Police Officer at the Metropolitan Police from 2002 to 2013, and held various managerial roles at the National Crime Agency from 2013 to 2017, including Deputy Director of Intelligence. Catherine is pursuing an MSc in Forensic Computing and Cybercrime Investigations at University College Dublin and is also participating in the Global Innovation Police Leaders scheme focused on Organizational Leadership.
