Scott Thornton, Ph.D., is a Senior Quantum Computing Libraries Engineer at NVIDIA, where they have been working since 2024. Previously, they served as an HPC Software Engineer at Descartes Labs from 2018 to 2020, optimizing software pipelines and leading a team in cloud-based physics simulations. Scott was a Research Associate Professor at Stony Brook University from 2013 to 2017, focusing on the development of the MADNESS scientific simulation framework and mentoring Ph.D. students in computational chemistry and physics. They earned a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University.
