Ravenna Koenig

West Coast Bureau Chief

Ravenna Koenig is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience at NPR, currently serving as the Western Bureau Chief since July 2021. In addition to this role, Ravenna has held acting positions as the Acting Bureau Chief and Acting Editor for both the Weekend Edition and Culture Desk. Prior to NPR, Ravenna worked as an Energy and Environment Reporter for Alaska's Energy Desk, focusing on climate change and environmental issues in Alaska. Earlier roles included positions as an Assistant Producer and Production Assistant at NPR and internships with various media projects, including Theory of Everything and WNYC Radio. Ravenna holds a degree in English (Creative Writing) from Barnard College.
