Jim Rains, FAIA, is a licensed architect with 44 years of experience in overseeing the construction phase of projects across various sectors, including work with architects, engineers, contractors, owners, and government agencies. They served as Principal at Boney Architects from 1997 to 2001 and held the role of Director of Capital Finance and Planning at the North Carolina Community College System from 2019 to 2020. Currently, Jim is the Director of Construction, Design and Construction at North Carolina State University and owns both Rains Studio, PA and Construction Phase Resources, LLC, which they established in 2001 and 2024, respectively. Jim earned a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from North Carolina State University between 1976 and 1980.
