Theo McGillivray is an experienced communications and marketing professional with a diverse background in community management and event strategy. Currently serving as Communications Director at NLM Photonics since April 2020, Theo leads marketing, public relations, and communications efforts for a cutting-edge photonics computing technology company. Previously, as Co-Founder and COO of Permanence Labs, operational oversight was provided, while at CMX Media, strategic direction was established for community engagement and conference experiences. With a tenure at Moz spanning five years in various roles, including Senior Community Manager and Social Community Manager, Theo managed a robust community and was instrumental in shaping the annual MozCon conference. The marketing expertise further extends to early contributions at GeekGirlCon, where significant growth in attendance was achieved. Theo holds a Bachelor's of Art in Creative Writing from the University of Puget Sound.
