Laurence (Tony) Howell is the former Executive Director of the Educational Opportunity Programs at NJIT, where they managed student services programs for underrepresented students, minorities, and women for 40 years. For the last 17 years, their focus has been on supporting STEM majors and developing pre-college programs for K-12 students. In this role, Howell supervised over 1,000 in-college students and 650 pre-college students, overseeing programs with an annual budget exceeding $2.3 million. They hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Sociology, Psychology, and Counseling from Indiana State University.
