Gareth Dennis is a Scottish railway engineer, writer, and lecturer residing in York, England. With over ten years of experience in railway design, they currently serve as the UK professional head of track at SYSTRA UK & Ireland and lead strategy for Test Tracks at Network Rail. As a co-founder of the Campaign for Level Boarding and host of the #Railnatter podcast, Gareth advocates for sustainable transport to promote equality and combat climate change. They have contributed writings to notable publications and appeared on various media platforms, while also engaging in educational roles at institutions like the National College for High Speed Rail and the Birmingham Centre for Railway Research and Education. With a Master of Engineering from The University of Edinburgh, Gareth’s expertise and advocacy extend to advising parliament and participating as Vice Chair of the Permanent Way Institution's Yorkshire section.
