Brent Summerville is a licensed professional engineer in North Carolina with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Master's in Appropriate Technology from Appalachian State University. They have extensive experience in renewable energy, having designed and deployed solar and microhydro projects while managing the Appstate Small Wind Research & Demonstration Site. Currently, Brent serves as the Technical Director of the Small Wind Certification Council and develops wind turbine certification programs, while also teaching at Appalachian State University as a Practitioner-in-Residence in Sustainable Technology.
