My Possibilities is a non-profit organization that was established in Plano, Texas in 2008 as a continuing education center for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. More than 250,000 adults with special needs in North Texas find that their opportunities for further education end abruptly after high school. The purpose of My Possibilities is to confront this immense educational void with programs designed specifically for these individuals. This approach encourages lifelong learning and independence, while enhancing quality of life and the dignity of adults with special needs.

Over 400 HIPsters (Hugely Important People) attend My Possibilities each week. They differ widely in their diagnoses and abilities, but share a boundless enthusiasm to learn, grow, volunteer, work, develop their talents, and contribute to their community. These HIPsters have much to offer society yet need ongoing support and encouragement to remain engaged.

The demand for quality, continuing education programs across North Texas is ever-expanding; space is limited, vacancies are few and waiting lists exist at most programs. Our passion for creating meaningful opportunities distinguishes us from all other providers. We are proud that within and beyond our community My Possibilities is considered a trailblazer for our innovative model of education for this important, underserved population. The Administration and Facilities team at My Possibilities handles the seamless day-to-day operations and upkeep of the organization's campus. This includes ensuring a safe, well-maintained environment, managing IT infrastructure, coordinating front desk operations, and providing essential support services. Their combined efforts create a welcoming, functional space that supports the ongoing educational and personal development of the HIPsters.

The Instructors and Program Coordinators at My Possibilities design and deliver specialized educational programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This team is dedicated to fostering lifelong learning, independence, and community engagement through a diverse range of instructional courses and tailored vocational training. They ensure that each HIPster receives personalized support, harnessing their unique abilities and passions to make meaningful contributions to society.

Instructors and Program Coordinators

The Education and Career Services team at My Possibilities designs and implements comprehensive educational and vocational programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This team ensures that HIPsters have access to a variety of meaningful continuing education opportunities, from curriculum development and hands-on vocational training to seamless admissions and campus life experiences, all aimed at fostering independence, lifelong learning, and community engagement.

Education and Career Services

The Therapy and Wellness Team at My Possibilities is dedicated to enhancing the holistic well-being of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through individualized and integrated therapeutic interventions. Team members, including speech therapy coordinators, occupational therapists, music therapists, registered nurses, and behavior technicians, collaborate to deliver comprehensive speech, occupational, and music therapy programs. Their goal is to promote autonomy, improve communication skills, enhance motor skills, and support behavioral management, thereby contributing to the lifelong learning and quality of life of the HIPsters they serve.

Therapy and Wellness Team

The Development and Fundraising Team at My Possibilities is responsible for securing financial resources to sustain and grow the organization’s initiatives. This team engages in tasks such as grant writing, donor relations, managing fundraising campaigns, leveraging data to guide development strategies, and enhancing the visibility of the organization's mission through effective marketing and communications. By cultivating relationships with individual donors, corporations, and foundations, they ensure continuous support for the ongoing education and empowerment of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Development and Fundraising Team

The Financial Services team at My Possibilities is responsible for managing the financial health of the organization. This includes overseeing accounting practices, handling billing processes, ensuring financial compliance, and generating financial reports. Together, the team supports the organization's mission by ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and transparently, thus enabling the provision of high-quality continuing education programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
