Ashanta Evans Blackwell currently serves as the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Teach For America, a position they have held since 2008, following roles as Deputy and Associate General Counsel. They previously worked as an Assistant Inspector General at the Office of the Executive Inspector General from 2003 to 2005 and as a Judicial Law Clerk at the United States District Court from 2005 to 2007. Ashanta is also a member of the Board of Trustees at Mount Holyoke College, which they joined in 2022, and is pursuing a Doctor of Law (J.D.) at Vanderbilt University Law School. Ashanta earned a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College in 1995.
