John Joyal is currently the Chief Operating Officer, Research, and Head of Biological Science at Moderna, a position held since 2022. Prior to this, Joyal served as Vice President of Biological Science and Vice President of Discovery Research at Moderna and Molecular Insight Pharmaceuticals, respectively. With experience as Director of Discovery Research at Phylogix and Director of Cell Biology at Praecis Pharmaceuticals, Joyal has established a robust career in the life sciences. Joyal earned a Ph.D. in Biology from Tufts University in 1993.
