Keith Grinstead has extensive experience in the fields of laser engineering and research, beginning as a Sr. Laser Engineer in Advanced R&D at Spectra-Physics from January 2008 to June 2012, where next generation laser systems were developed. From June 2012 to September 2015, Grinstead served as a Sr. Research Scientist at Innovative Scientific Solutions Inc., focusing on propulsion and combustion for unmanned air vehicles. Following this, Grinstead worked at the University of Dayton Research Institute from September 2015 to May 2024 as a Senior Laser/Optics Engineer, utilizing laser light to enhance aircraft availability and maintenance. Grinstead then took on the role of Senior Laser Scientist at Leidos from March 2019 to May 2024. Currently, Grinstead is a Senior Research Scientist at Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) since February 2025. Grinstead also held a position as a Scientist at Riverside Research from November 2023 to February 2025.
