Nelson Tejada

Director, Major League Baseball

Nelson Tejada has extensive experience in investigations and security management, currently serving as the Director at Major League Baseball (MLB) since August 1998, where responsibilities encompass a wide range of investigations in Latin America, including issues related to performance-enhancing drugs, player misconduct, and rule violations. Notably, in 2009, Tejada led the establishment of the age and identity department, significantly reducing player identity misrepresentation within the Dominican Republic and Latin America. Prior to MLB, Tejada served as a Task Force Officer with both the Drug Enforcement Administration and the FBI, as well as a Detective Lieutenant with the Passaic County Sheriff's Department, overseeing narcotics investigations and enforcement. Tejada holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice/Homeland Security from Thomas Edison State University and pursued studies at William Paterson University of New Jersey.
