Roland Sgorcea is a highly experienced engineer specializing in air traffic management automation and avionics, currently serving as Chief Engineer for the NAS Automation Evolution department at MITRE. With a focus on aligning projects with FAA modernization initiatives, Roland leads strategic projects and oversees ATM solution design and software development. Previously, Roland held key roles at Exelis, where contributions supported a major air traffic management infrastructure modernization project for Air Services Australia, and at MITRE CAASD, providing advisory and technical leadership. Roland's earlier experience includes developing embedded software for military aircraft at CMC Electronics and establishing air traffic management specifications at LFV. Roland holds an MBA from The Johns Hopkins University, a Master of Engineering in Aerospace Engineering from Concordia University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from Purdue University, alongside an Associate’s Degree from Vincennes University.
