Ryan Heffernan is a Principal Security Engineer at Microsoft, with over 20 years of experience in the tech industry, primarily focused on cybersecurity for the past 15 years. As part of the Azure Security team, they defend critical infrastructure and have significantly contributed to many of Microsoft's key products. Ryan previously taught cybersecurity at the University of Washington and developed the curriculum for the Master of Science in Cyber Security Engineering program. They hold an MS in Information Assurance from Norwich University and a BS in Philosophy from the University of Utah.
