Melissa Navas currently serves as Vice President at Metropolitan Group, a position held since July 2023. Previously, Navas was Chief of Staff at Multnomah County from December 2022 to June 2023 and Communications Director for Nick for Oregon from October 2021 to February 2022. Navas spent over two years at The University of Chicago Institute of Politics as Director of Career Development, focusing on engaging students in politics and public service. Additional experience includes roles such as Deputy Communications Director and Communications Coordinator at Multnomah County, as well as Press Secretary for both Oregon Governors Kate Brown and John Kitzhaber. Earlier in the career, Navas worked as a Metro Reporter at The Oregonian and was a Eugene C. Pulliam Fellow at The Arizona Republic. Navas holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago and degrees in Journalism and History from Contra Costa College and the University of Nevada, Reno.
