Thomas Sutton is the National Practice Group Leader for the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group at McCarthy Tétrault LLP and a litigation partner at the firm. Their practice centers on complex commercial disputes and professional liability, and they have appeared as counsel at all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada. Sutton is also an adjunct professor at Queen’s University, teaching courses in Trial Advocacy and Medical Negligence, and has contributed as a lecturer on officers' and directors' duties at The Directors College. Additionally, they have served on various charitable boards and professional committees, enhancing their commitment to legal education and governance.
