The Max-Born Institute for Nonlinear Optics and Short Pulse Spectroscopy is a leading organisation for fundamental research in physics, laser science and photonics. We advance the frontiers of knowledge by studying light-matter interaction under extreme conditions. We explore curiosity-driven insights and develop cutting-edge laser technology. Our world-class laboratories and state-of-the-art computing facilities are located in the vibrant city of Berlin, Germany. 
Our creative scientists develop activities in atomic, molecular, solid state and optical physics and optical engineering in four research areas - Attosecond Physics, Transient Electronic Structure and Nanoscience, Precision Physics and Theory. In our international, diverse and committed environment, we train the next generation of scientists and engineers. We welcome post-doctoral researchers, PhD students, masters and undergraduate students, interns and trainees from all over the world. Our administrative and scientific support teams play a crucial role in creating an environment conducive to cutting-edge research and contribute significantly to the success and impact of the Max-Born Institute, further consolidating our position as a hub for ground-breaking research.
