Clifton Williamson is currently an ASIC/SOC Micro-architect at MatX since 2025. They have extensive experience in digital design and engineering, having held various positions, including Distinguished Engineer at Proton Digital Systems and Founding Engineer at Pure Storage, where they contributed to FlashBlade technology. Clifton began their career as a Technologist at Seagate Technology and later worked at LSI and IBM, where they focused on digital design and research. They earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1978.
