Magnus Kjartansson currently serves as Innovation Director for Retail and Food Service Solutions at Marel, where responsibilities include overseeing a multinational innovation organization and managing significant innovation investments for maximum impact and return. Previous roles at Marel include Director of Logistics and Systems Engineering, Manager of Innovation for Inspection and Sorting, and Manager of Development for Smart Handling, where Magnus contributed to organizational restructuring and the development of integrated solutions. Before joining Marel, Magnus worked as Innovation Team Leader at the Poultry Center in Iceland and held engineering positions at Emery Machines, Iðntækni Bergen Group, and Carbon Recycling International. Magnus holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering & Product Development from Lund University and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Reykjavik University, along with executive leadership training from TIAS School for Business and Society.
