Hilda M. Surillo is the Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary at MAPFRE Puerto Rico, where they provide legal advice on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and various insurance matters. They have held this position since 2018 and previously served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel at the same company since 2000. Hilda was a board member at MAPFRE BHD from 2004 to 2013, contributing to the formation and merger processes of insurance operations in the Dominican Republic. Prior to these roles, they worked as a Senior Associate at Sanchez Betances, Sifre & Muñoz Noya from 1989 to 2000, specializing in business contract law and litigation. Hilda earned a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras in 1991.
