Catherine Mahan is the President of Mahan Rykiel Associates Inc. since 1983 and the Founder and President of Catherine Mahan & Associates from 1983 to 1993. Catherine received a MLA in Landscape Architecture from the University of Virginia and a BA in fine arts/languages from Georgetown University. Catherine Mahan founded their own landscape architecture design firm in Mt. Vernon in Baltimore in 1983.
