MAF International flies medical aid, relief and humanitarian help to vulnerable people in some of the most isolated places in the world.

Established in 1945, MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) was founded by a group of Christian World War Two pilots. Their shared vision was to use their aviation skills to help rather than harm, and in turn spread the good news and love of Christ.

For many remote communities across the world, the arrival of one of our planes symbolises hope, help and healing.  Bringing with it vaccines, food, school books, mosquito nets, building materials, Bibles or the best chance of reaching urgent medical attention.

Our aircraft carry thousands of passengers every year, transporting key workers from over 1,300 organisations, including NGOs, churches and development groups.  Our flights mean we can save our partners hours and sometimes days of travel.

MAF International oversees programmes in Arnhem Land (Australia), Bangladesh, Chad, Kenya, Liberia, Guinea, Madagascar, Papua New Guinea, South Sudan, Tanzania, Timor-Leste and Uganda. We are also in the process of establishing a new programme in Myanmar.

Our mission hearted staff keep our programmes running.

The Human Resources team at MAF International is responsible for recruiting and retaining mission-hearted staff across various disciplines, including Engineers, Pilots, IT, Finance, Management, and Communications. They manage employee relations, provide development and training opportunities, ensure compliance with employment regulations, and foster a supportive work environment to sustain the organization’s mission of delivering humanitarian aid to some of the most isolated communities in the world.

Human Resources

The Aviation Operations team at MAF International coordinates and manages the logistics of flying medical aid, relief, and humanitarian supplies to remote and isolated locations. They ensure the safe operation of flights, maintain airworthiness of aircraft, and develop fleet strategies to optimize delivery. This team includes roles such as Chief Pilot, Director of Flight Operations, Mission Aviation Pilots, and operational managers, all working together to bring essential services and hope to vulnerable communities worldwide.

The Impact and Development team at MAF International focuses on measuring and enhancing the impact of the organization's humanitarian efforts. They conduct research to assess the effectiveness of aid delivered, strategize for continuous improvement, and form strategic partnerships to bolster resource acquisition. The team also oversees development programs in various regions, ensuring that staff receive specialized training to maximize mission success and sustainability.

Impact and Development

The Information Technology Team at MAF International ensures the effective and secure operation of IT systems supporting the organization’s global missions. This team manages IT infrastructure, enhances cybersecurity measures, develops and maintains software applications, and facilitates efficient communication and data management across multiple remote locations. Their work ensures seamless coordination and operational efficiency, enabling MAF to deliver critical aid and support to isolated communities worldwide.

Information Technology Team

The Leadership Team at MAF International is responsible for strategic decision-making and overall organizational guidance. Comprising the Chief Pilot, Chief Human Resource Officer, Chief Information Officer, Chief Finance Officer, CEO, and Chief Operations Officer, the team ensures the efficient and effective delivery of humanitarian aid and services. They coordinate across various disciplines to support MAF's mission of providing medical aid, relief, and hope to isolated communities around the world.

Leadership Team

The Communications Team at MAF International is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing communication strategies to enhance the mission and visibility of the organization. This includes internal communications to ensure cohesive messaging among staff, external communications to engage key stakeholders and the public, and regional communications to cater to the specific needs of different geographical areas. They also handle media relations, content creation, and public awareness campaigns to highlight the impact of MAF's humanitarian efforts worldwide.
