Ratnakumar (Kumar) Bugga is a seasoned expert in battery research and development with over 35 years of experience in the field. Currently serving as a Senior Fellow at Lyten since July 2021, Bugga focuses on batteries and energy storage. Additionally, as a Senior Battery Scientist and Technologist-Consultant at KumarBugga Battery Consulting since February 2021, expertise encompasses lithium-ion and next-generation lithium-sulfur rechargeable batteries, as well as primary batteries. Bugga has also been a battery technologist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory since 1987, where prior roles included Battery Scientist from October 2007 to February 2021. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrochemistry from the Indian Institute of Science, obtained between 1977 and 1983.
