Richard Nieman, MD FRCP, currently serves as the Executive Vice President of Medical Strategy at Lumanity since April 2025 and as a Visiting Senior Lecturer at King's College London since November 2021. Previously, Richard held the position of Chief Medical Officer at Lyra Therapeutics from July 2022 to July 2024, and Chief Development & Medical Officer at Norgine in late 2021. Richard's extensive experience includes several senior roles at Bristol Myers Squibb, where responsibilities included Senior Vice President of Worldwide Medical and Head of Immunology & Fibrosis. Richard has contributed as a Visiting Professor at Fudan University and served as Global Medical Officer at Teva Pharmaceuticals. Richard's early career included significant positions at Bayer HealthCare, leading medical affairs across Asia and establishing a global medical affairs function. Richard holds an MBBS from Imperial College London, completed a research fellowship in cystic fibrosis, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
