Renae Cotero is an experienced educator in animal behavior and conservation, currently serving as Curator of Education II at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens since November 2017. Prior roles include Education Specialist and Photograph Consultant at Los Angeles Zoo, where Renae facilitated educational programs and contributed to exhibit development. Renae has also worked as a Camp Instructor and Education Specialist/Camp Counselor with the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association, teaching children about animals and conservation. In addition, Renae spent time as Outreach Supervisor and Coordinator at Audubon Nature Institute, delivering educational programs to diverse audiences. Renae holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Occidental College, where academic achievements include publishing research on the morphology of epithelial cells in mollusks.
