Simon Cawthorne is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in pharmaceutical and biotechnology licensing and business development. Currently serving as Global Head Licensing Transactions at Lonza, Simon leads a team focused on the out licensing and strategic acquisition of technologies, particularly in mammalian and microbial expression systems, mRNA, and cell and gene therapies. Prior to this role, Simon held the position of Senior Director, Licensing at Lonza and served as Director of Business Development at Catalent Pharma Solutions, where expertise was honed in drug delivery technologies. Additional experience includes senior roles at 3M Health Care, AstraZeneca, and Fisons. Simon holds a BSc Hons in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Sunderland and a Management Diploma from Loughborough College, further complementing a robust track record in formulation and process development.
