Joachim Ahner is an accomplished laser physicist and manager currently serving at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory since February 2023. Prior to this role, Joachim held a position as Senior Staff Member for Metrology at ENOVIX Corporation, where advanced high-throughput metrology techniques for battery production were introduced. Joachim spent over two decades at Seagate Technology, progressing through various roles from Research Staff Member to Senior Director, managing advanced technology development and innovation in hard drive technology. Earlier experience includes a professorship at the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on surface dynamics and quantum materials research. Joachim earned a PhD and MS in Physics from The Philipp University of Marburg and completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Pittsburgh.
