Roy Swan leads the Mission Investments team at the Ford Foundation, managing approximately $1.35 billion in capital dedicated to social justice and inequality through impact investing. Before this role, Roy served as managing director and co-head of Global Sustainable Finance at Morgan Stanley, overseeing a commitment of more than $13 billion to community development transactions. Roy also held the position of chief investment officer at the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone, contributing to Harlem's economic revitalization. With a legal background from Stanford Law School and a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, Roy has extensive experience across investment banking, finance, and corporate law. Additionally, Roy has served on numerous nonprofit and corporate boards, influencing various sectors related to economic development and ESG reporting.
