Kaila Pianalto, Ph.D., is currently a Group Leader and Scientist II at KBI Biopharma, where they apply their expertise in molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, and cell biology. Previously, they served as a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of California, Berkeley, and held various positions, including a Technical Assistant at the University of Arkansas and a Graduate Student at Duke University Medical Center, where they earned their Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology. Kaila began their academic journey by obtaining a B.S. in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Throughout their career, they have focused on exploring pathogenesis and cell signaling in fungi through genetic and functional genomics tools.
