Karoliina Salminen is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in software engineering and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as a Principal Software Engineer at KATIM since January 2020, Karoliina leads an AI team focused on designing and developing machine learning algorithms and systems. Previously, at Huawei from July 2013 to January 2020, Karoliina contributed to AI research, specializing in Spiking Neural Networks and Random Indexing. Earlier roles include Senior System Specialist at HCL Technologies and a long tenure at Nokia, where Karoliina held various positions, including Technical Product Owner for MeeGo and Technical Project Manager for Maemo. Karoliina began professional career as a trainee at Nokia Cellular Systems, following a BSc in Software Engineering and Machine Automation from Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
