David Smith CFM, CHEM, MS Retired has an extensive career in facility management and safety, serving as NFS Director for Facility Services at Kaiser Permanente in Colorado since February 2002, overseeing Engineering, Security, Environmental Health & Safety, and Environmental Services. Prior to this role, David held the position of Director of Support Services and Safety Officer at St. Francis Hospital from January 1983 to March 2002, where responsibilities included maintenance, renovations, construction projects, and various support services. Earlier in the career, David served as a Training Sergeant and shift commander at the South Charleston Police Department from February 1979 to February 1988, providing training in law enforcement and self-defense tactics. David holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from the University of Charleston and Facilities Engineering Management from North Carolina State University, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Criminal Justice from West Virginia State University.
