Claire Domoney worked as a Project Leader at the John Innes Centre from July 1995, and later became the Head of Department in September 2013. Prior to that, they were a Post-doctoral visiting worker at Agrigenetics Research Corporation from 1983 to 1985.

Claire Domoney has a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Plant Sciences from University College Dublin. Additionally, they hold a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Plant Molecular Biology from the University of East Anglia.
