Penelope Choi is a skilled fire protection engineer with diverse internship experience in the field. At Summer Consultants, Inc., from May to August 2022, Penelope coordinated life safety and fire alarm system designs for government buildings using AutoCAD and Revit. As a Fire Protection Engineering Intern at Jacobs from June 2024 to February 2025, duties included conducting life safety evaluations and creating an egress analysis report for Connecticut's Stratford Station. Penelope also evaluated fire suppression systems in compliance with NFPA codes at PANYNJ Substation 14. Additional experience includes a Fire & Life Safety Engineering Internship at WSP, where evaluations were conducted for various projects, and serving as a Resident Assistant at the University of Maryland, managing a residential floor and supporting residents. Penelope has also acted as a Fire Protection Engineering Ambassador at the University of Maryland, engaging in outreach and recruitment activities. Currently pursuing a degree at the University of Maryland, Penelope is set to graduate in 2024.
