Nicholas Downey is an experienced professional in molecular biology and genomics, currently serving as the NGS Collaborations Lead and Senior Product Manager for NGS at Integrated DNA Technologies since November 2012. Key accomplishments include the launch of the xGen CNV Backbone panel and the xGen Exome Research Panel V2, as well as the development of custom capture probe products. Prior to this role, Nicholas held various positions in academia, including Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse and Luther College, where responsibilities encompassed teaching and directing undergraduate research. Nicholas also gained valuable experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow at UCLA and the University of Manchester, focusing on mitochondrial DNA research in Trypanosoma species. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Iowa, a Master's Degree in Biology from The University of Toledo, and a BSc. with Hons in Biological and Biochemical Sciences from The University of Salford.
