Gil Vernik is a distinguished research scientist and AI systems architect currently working as a Senior Research Scientist focused on Cloud Programming Models and Runtimes at IBM. With extensive experience spanning various roles in programming and architecture, Gil has contributed significantly to the field of AI infrastructure, distributed computing, and large-scale data platforms. Previously, Gil served as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Haifa, teaching courses in Linear Algebra and Cloud and Big Data. Gil holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Haifa, along with a B.A. and M.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science. Over the years, Gil has actively participated in research, open source projects, and the advancement of cloud technologies.
