Blake Bower is currently the Director of Government and Regulatory Affairs at IBM UK, where they lead efforts to influence policy that leverages science and technology to enhance lives and the economy. With over 15 years of experience as a civil servant across eight departments, Blake has developed and implemented various policies, most recently serving as the Director of Digital and Technology Policy at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. Previously, Blake held leadership roles at multiple organizations, including the UK Ministry of Justice and the Department for Energy and Climate Change. They hold a BSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Bristol, an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London, and an MBA from Warwick Business School. Additionally, Blake is a member of the Bureau of the Committee on Artificial Intelligence at the Council of Europe, contributing to the development of a legal framework for AI.
