Alexander James Smith is currently the Group Head of Financial Crime Data Platforms at HSBC, where they lead a team of up to 34 people in the design and product ownership of data solutions for compliance and financial crime risk globally. They have established themselves as a subject matter expert within the organization, focusing on data analytics, governance, and the development of impactful machine learning models. Previously, Alexander held various roles at HSBC and PwC, contributing significantly to data solutions and analytics in financial crime mitigation. They earned a First Class Honours degree from the University of Cambridge.
