Janie Ruiz is the Site Coordinator and Field Supervisor at the College of Education at the University of Houston, where they focus on recruiting and developing educational leaders for a large student body. Previously, they served as the General Manager of Talent Acquisition at Houston ISD, where they implemented strategic human capital plans to support over 27,000 employees. Janie has a diverse background in education, having held roles from Principal to Teacher in Aldine ISD over a span of 23 years. They are currently pursuing a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Sam Houston State University, complementing a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the same institution. A dedicated advocate for education, Janie is proud to be a member of #TeamHISD, continually striving for excellence in the educational landscape.
