Van alle waterschappen in Nederland hebben wij misschien wel het meest boeiende werkgebied. Dat heeft vooral te maken met de grote onderlinge verschillen. De hogere zandgronden van de Heuvelrug in het oosten hebben met heel andere uitdagingen te maken dan de laaggelegen veengebieden in het westen waar bijvoorbeeld bodemdaling een issue is. En het 'betonnen' midden met de stad Utrecht vraagt om weer een andere benadering. Eén van de uitdagingen die de regio's gemeenschappelijk hebben: klimaatverandering. Rond dit thema trekken we steeds nauwer op met onder meer provincie en gemeenten. We willen ons werk sowieso zoveel mogelijk doen in samenspraak met onze omgeving. Want daar staan we voor.
